So in changing beliefs you must practice changing your lens. Look through your past in a new way, looking for new, forgotten or ignored truths.
I believe you need to treat your perception of the past in HOW you perceive it. Not sure if this is relevant to you, but if someone is abused they often have a distorted memory of their abuse. It is rarely reality. It must be treated therapeutically like that remember it.
In general we are all reflections of our past, even what we don’t want to see.
